  1. Warren, Last time we talked you said the red classic 250 sight would ship May 4th. Please let me know when I can expect to see it. Rick
  2. Hi Warren, I would like another red f/o 250 classic front sight for my 627 if you have one available. Do you still have my address and credit card information?
  3. Hi Warren, I absolutely loved the front sight. I would like to order another 250 F/O when you go back into production. My friend would like one also. Rick
  4. Warren: I received the F/O sight I ordered by phone. It looks great. I will put it on today and take it out for a test ride tomorrow. Thanks, Rick
  5. But what about us that can't focus on the front sight? My bifocals require that I tilt my head back to focus. The results have been worse that just letting it be fuzzy. Any suggestions for us 'old eyes' guys? tkheard...I also wear bifocals. I went to my optometrist and had glasses made where I could see distance from my left eye and a clear sight picture with my arms extended with my right eye. I believe they are called monovision glasses. I put them on when I get to the range. It takes a very short time to get used to. You will have a good sight picture without having to tilt your head back.
  6. I use 3.4 Clays and a 160 Billys round nose bullet.
  7. Billy Bullets makes a nice 170 gr. round nose moly coated bullet.
  8. I've loaded several thousand rounds of 3.4 Clays with no signs of pressure problems. I use a 160 moly bullet and make a 128-129 power factor.
  9. Colorado Rocky Mountain Regional date is set for June 25th and 26th. Match and awards on Saturday, shoot off on Sunday. Come check it out. Details on ICORE web site.
  10. No, you can have your moonclips in front like you would in ICORE. You cant use a "race" holster. I use a Blade Tec.
  11. I use my 627 in ICORE, Steel Challenge, and USPSA production class. One gun fits all.
  12. After reading this post it inspired me to go to the range. I shoot a revolver and have difficulty calling my shots. I was practicing shooting at some small plates and still having a problem seeing the front sight lift. I then went to my Buckmark 22 and it was much easier to see the lift. I went back again to the revolver and told myself "smooth trigger pull". It seemed so easy after that to hit those 4"x4" plates. With the combination of a smooth trigger pull and looking for the sight to lift, I think it will help me alot. I know this sounds very basic but it finally hit home for me! Thanks for this post. Now I can start calling my shots. Rick
  13. I have loaded thousands of rounds of 3.4 Clays with a 160 moly coated bullet at 150 oal. Great load with no signs of pressure problems.
  14. Rocky Mountain Regional is coming May 1&2. Who's coming out?
  15. I'm using a 160 Billys with 3.3 Clays for a PF around 129 in my 38 special 627. It's a nice load.
  16. Thanks everyone for the replies. That was a big help.
  17. I am thinking about buying a Blade tech for use in production class. Any comments on the Tec-lok vs. the SR loop? Are these good holsters?
  18. It seems to me then, based on your example, they should then be termed "almost ready to work center" guns. When you put the word Performance in the title, that is what it should be capable of right out of the box. Trust me, I'm a S&W fan! But this is the perfect example of exactly what is wrong with American products these days. Many skilled laborers, most of whom are earning a better than decent wage, just don't care if they put out crap products. The product goes out, they get paid, big deal kinda attitude. It's hard to convince folks to give up foreign and buy domestic with examples of high priced shoddy workmanship like this. I believe you need to look at management. If the workers have a quota to meet and there is a lack of quality control, the buck would stop with S&W not labor.

    Blade Tech

Will the Blade Tek 625 holster work on a 5" 627? How much do they cost? Thanks Rick
  20. Thanks Kyle. I'm going to make seeing my sight lift priority #1 this year until it becomes automatic. Rick
  21. When I practice Steel Challenge stages with my 22 Buckmark, I consistently see my front sight lift. But not so much with my match gun [a revolver] unless I really concentrate on front sight lift. Any suggestions? I do double plug. Should I concentrate more on seeing that front sight lift? Rick
  22. I have been using 3.4 to 3.5 of Clays with a 158 berrys plated bullet with good results. These are in a model 627 5" barrel.
  23. I will be there. Not sure why it is taking ICORE so long to post it.
  24. Professor, I have recently started shooting production with my 627. You dont have to position your moonclips behind your back. Just put them in front as you would in ICORE.
