Crossbreed doesn't make any for the STI double stack line. That was my first choice for my total eclipse. I ordered an Alessi

I have used my 9mm 5.25 with Springer trigger, same load as Marv, in IDPA ESP, USPSA production, and at the Rockcastle 3-gun match and it's ideal for all 3 applications. I love it. Runs great.

Yep. Got my ballots (A5 and Pres) today. Stamped and ready. Just need a couple x's.

+1 to all that ^

(when I wear pants) .

Ideally would be width of bullet plus 2 case walls, then check by dropping into your barrel. "clink" and you're done.

I followed the instructions on adjusting the depth of the die in the 4th station and when doing so it doesn't seem to crimp the case tight enough. In other words it seems to be too much bell after crimping. I think I turned an additional 3-4 full turns after the case touched the crimping die. I have double checked the die used to bell the case and it's only belling about 10 thousandths which should be well w/i specs. I'm curious what could be off. This is new Federal brass .45 ACP. I'm just setting up my first Dillon 550B and I'm new to reloading. Thank you!

I'm not sure about your specific situation but it may be that the crimp die just needs to be a little lower. since it's a taper, you should be able to put it down far enough that it will crimp TOO much.
So you probably just need to turn it down until you like the diameter of the case mouth.

ive been wearing the wrangler cargo pants you can get at walmart pretty comfortable.
Yeah. I have those on now. Very comfortable. They are a little lighter weight for winter tho
Am I the only one who wears Truspec and Techwear while on the forums?
Nope. Wranglers on BE (when I wear pants) . 5.11 for ARFcom.... Truspec is DEFINITELY not appropriate for BE IPSC global village maybe.....

Woolrich tactical elite are a little thicker than 5.11. Those plus under armor for the really cold days are all I've needed through the winter

He said bring 100 rifle, 100 pistol and 75 shot
15 hours and counting....

Yep. Thats the question

"Barrels are designated soft cover"
We put that right after "Upon start signal .... "
We (usually) pay attention to where we put them so that a shooter choosing to intentionally shoot through barrels doesn't ruin the whole design of the stage. One exception occurred during battle of the bluegrass this past year.
There may be some unintended consequences to this but it has worked pretty well so far.
I'm actually surprised that more ranges don't do it. When Gary Stevens suggested it I was under the impression that it was more widespread.
It wasn't until Skydivers posts above that I thought about potential problems with partial targets, and started for a place in the rulebook that makes a distinction between barriers like barrels that only obscure targets from a certain perspective, and soft cover that COVERS a target ... Which specifically prohibits partial targets behind them. Still looking.

Well I guess it's easy if you try.
Hard for me to imagine putting a bullet on top of that but I guess if you don't look it doesn't matter how full it is.
-
By the way: here's 9 grains TG in a 9mm case. Sorta hard to double charge.
-
Lol: I'm anal but I draw the line at case gauging factory ammo.

Hmm:
4.1.4.2: cover provided merely to obscure targets is considered soft cover. Shots which have passed through soft cover and which strike a scoring target will score. Shots that have passed through soft cover before hitting a no-shoot will be penalized. All scoring zones on targets hidden by soft cover must be left wholly intact. Targets obscured by soft cover must either be visible through the soft cover or a portion of the affected target(s) must be visible from around or over the soft cover.
I guess the italic portion is the part you are referring to, Skydiver, and I have to admit I haven't considered it basically because I think of the barrels/walls used as soft cover as different than "cover merely provided to obscure targets"
In other words, I saw 4.1.4.2 as a rule governing (among other things) putting black plastic in front of a target: you wouldn't want a partial target hidden behind that because you can't see to aim for a scoring portion.
Whereas a barrier or wall that serves additional purpose as a piece of range equipment within the construction/design of a course, if specifically designated soft cover per the WSB, and may not actually cover the target unless you engage from a certain angle.... Is that also soft cover but not the same as governed by 4.1.4.2?
In short, we use partial targets near barrels all the time, designate the barrels soft cover, and didn't think anything was wrong with it.
Interesting. I don't know the answer to that one.

If bullets went thru the barrel, then the holes in the target would not be round.
This is not categorically true.
We use barrels for walls and vision barriers all the time at BGSL and sometimes the holes are round and sometimes they are elongated or enlarged.
Usually the grease-ring trick works....HOWEVER
The arguments we used to have about which hole in the barrel it went through, the failure (and our lack of inclination) to keep barrel edges taped, and the fact that it slows down scoring so much have led us to declare barrels soft cover when used immediately adjacent to targets.
It makes the sport so much more fun.

My personal opinion from the peanut gallery:
WSB says engage T1-T6 with only one shot.
IF the competitor engaged 6,5,4,3,1,1 on one string and 2,2,3,4,5,6 on another string I would award 2 procedurals (one per string) for stacking per the rule you quoted.
To get into whether the first was a wide miss and the second was a makeup (one procedural in that case?) is too much like trying to read the shooters mind. So I don't think you call T2 engaged on the first string - especially because you have to score the hit on T1. (did he engage both with one shot?)
Having said that I wouldn't change anything after the fact in this case.
I don't know how you would do anything different as RO without a scorekeeper to watch hits.
Maybe look at targets between strings but on a long distance stage where you can't see the holes ... ?? Score each string?
Just one man's HYPOTHETICAL opinion.

On Benellis if you reload wrong (eh Benny?) it catches your thumb and rips the sh!t out of it. Look up Benelli thumb.
Rather than learn how to reload with the joint flexed, it's easier to have the lifter welded.

I have jailbroken and modded every iPhone besides the 4S. You can always get DFU mode to work. I have only heard of one or two people that actually bricked thier phones for real. Stop panicking and do some research. It can be fixed.
Should have led with your credentials. Mr Orr probably didn't realize the value of your post because he probably thought you were part of the same peanut gallery as me

I agree. A lot of shooters would choose NOT to take a partial hardcover target with a NS covering yet another portion on the move. Plus you never know if the door is going to swing closed when you are too far back to stop it
Having said that, if it worked for you, great. I personally have more confidence in my ability to make up time running than taking those shots moving. But I would have definitely done it your way if I knew that the door wouldn't swing open and closed again, and if the NS wasn't there.
