  1. Are You Allergic? any one Allergic to latex Gloves? We could Have some Nitrle Gloves on hand.

Best to just go with one type - if someone perceives an advantage in one over the other (no matter how slight) you could have an arbitration on your hands  I think they make Nitrile gloves in the same sizes as latex, with the same tight feel, etc - should be exactly the same effect ;)

    Very true...

Should have thought that one through.

  2. I too was in the class in Waco. I learned A LOT and still don't understand the wording of all the rules.

I hope the RO certification will help me become a better competitor as well as give me some opportunities that I would not have had before.

  3. I had the same problem with the rounds in the mag coming up slowly with Arredondo base pads on. It took me almost a month to figure out that the springs had "worn out", even though I had only been using them about a month. You might try some new +10% springs and see if it makes a difference. It did the trick for me.

FWIW, I only loaded my first mag with 20 rounds, my extra mags had 18 or 19 depending on the stage.

  4. I've only used Arredondo. Heard good things about all of them as you can see above.

I did have some problems using them at first, but it was a spring issue and had nothing to do with the basepads. If I had to do it again, I'd still get the Arredondo's.

  5. I'm cross-eye dominant, but I don't think that has anything to do with my problem. I absolutely cannot shoot with both eyes open. Too many sights and too many targets to pick from. I use scotch tape on my shooting glasses and it works well, but my target transition is rather slow. Is it possible to overcome this?

    PRACTICE.

I am very cross-eyed dominant, and see two front and rear sights if I try to shoot with both eyes open, like you. It was awkward at first using the tape on my lens, but now during dryfire, I can take the tape off and switch dominance between eyes if I focus hard enough. I'm not comfortable enough to shoot a match without the tape, but I feel like I can get there after more and more practice with and without the tape.

  6. I can't wait either. Not sure how long it will take to get approved. Not sure if the standard GP-6 is approved as of yet. So go out and buy on ASAP! :)

Haha I wish! I've only handled one at the vendors tent during the LPR Nats last year. Felt very balanced, good trigger pull and reset from what I remember. I'd like to shoot one before I go out and buy it...

  7. Something similar can happen when we go from a more heavily recoiling cartridge, like .40 or .45, to something with lighter recoil like a 9mm. Since our (as Matt Burkett puts it) "subconscious neuromuscular response" is habituated to pulling the gun back down after heavier recoil, with lighter recoil we overcompensate and wind up nosediving the gun.

This was the exact thought that came to my mind when I read the original post. I don't know if you are switching between guns or not, but if you plan on staying with the 9 mm, you should be able to consistently shoot tighter groups after 500 rounds or so. As long as you don't keep switching back and forth between the larger calibers.

  8. The mag body feed lips and followers are different dimensions, so they probly won't function properly with the different caliber. I'm not sure about the springs and stock basepads though.

The arredondo basepads can be used on 9mm and .40 mags.
