Anodize barrel

Anyone know of a company that will anodize a Apex barrel red or other colors?

Or is it even possible to do it?

Any negatives?

It appears that Anodizing is pretty much for Alum products and nitrate is for steel.  I don't know if red or blue nitrate is available but a call to them I am sure will provide the answer. I have seen some shield barrels on Ebay that were blue so that was why I asked.

There are lots of spray and bake finishes that would be a much less expensive way of coloring the barrel. Unless you want the bore of the barrel to be a particular color, paint is the route I would recommend.

As mentioned, Anodizing is for aluminum.  The colors obtained are by dying the anodizing then sealing the finish.  Best option is to probably a plating but not many are red.  It will eventually wear through probably.

Titanium nitride or black nitride are what you want. Anodizing, as mentioned, is for aluminum. Cerakote could be done on the barrel any color you'd like - but it will not last. Cerakote is a great product and it's quite durable, but it won't last with the metal on metal contact like a barrel sees.
