light strike / squib

Got a light strike today with S&B primers. Hit it a 2nd time and "pfffft!"...that sound we all hate. Squib.

 

Racked the brass out...WHAT THE ___?? 380ACP. I hate 380 acp brass getting into the 9mm heap!! My press will run it around, but being short, no powder drop. 

 

Concidering the brass was just loosely hanging on the extractor,  I'm impressed it popped.  but was much less impressed as i pounded the bullet out.  And pounded, and pounded, and finally got it out.

 

While i did need a 2nd whack, once again it was an ammo issue. Not the gun.

Interesting. My 650 will absolutely drop powder into a 380 case, on the rare occasion my shellsorter brass sorting widget and the lack of effort on the upstroke don't tip me off!

Agreed. I've gotten powder and even managed to stuff a 147 in a 380 case. Lol. I'm not so sure I'd like to fire it though

I shot one of them once. Through an M&P.

 

Fed and ejected like any other round.

My 1050 with Mark 7 will drop powder in a .380 case but it won't drop a bullet from the MBF.

I even have a tray to sort the 380 out of the 9 and I still occasionally get one.
