My wife and I were on the morning sailing on the MV Coho from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria, BC on Thursday. About six miles out of port the captain stopped the ship in the middle of the staits and shut down the engines. He asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of the attack on our country and blew the ships horn three long and mournfull times. The seas were flat calm and the skies were clear with almost unlimited visability. It was a very beautiful moment.
On the actual morning of the attack, the capatin of the MV Coho had stopped his ship mid channel in just such a manner when he heard the news and they have continued to do so since then.
