Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. Ouch! I got nailed by similar bandits at the same range during match set up when I decided to move a bunch of barrels. Hope you feel better soon. It's the itching that bugs me the most. Later David
  2. Congratulations on your escape! Is it final yet? PM me with details of where your new place is. Sue and I are very interested. The only things you'll miss about California are the great shooting ranges, shooting clubs and fellow shooters. Enjoy the ride! David
  3. Don't push it. If the doc says not more than 10 pounds for six weeks he means it. I got a bit antsy at four weeks, ran a ditch witch for a day and regretted that move for quite a while. Don't rush the reloading either. David Benzick
  4. Selling a 650 is like falling off a log. What caliber set ups do you have? Any accesories? How much? It's sold. Later David Benzick
  5. My wife and I were on the morning sailing on the MV Coho from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria, BC on Thursday. About six miles out of port the captain stopped the ship in the middle of the staits and shut down the engines. He asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of the attack on our country and blew the ships horn three long and mournfull times. The seas were flat calm and the skies were clear with almost unlimited visability. It was a very beautiful moment. On the actual morning of the attack, the capatin of the MV Coho had stopped his ship mid channel in just such a manner when he heard the news and they have continued to do so since then. Respectfuly, David Benzick
  6. Thanks for the link. That was Great! Dave
  7. I shot this drill again yesterday with my limited pistol but changed the target size. I previously had be using a 3 1/2"x3 1/2" sticky note. Yesterday, I shot on a 2 1/2" wide 3 1/2" tall business card. While I only got back to 22 yards on the smaller target, I felt I was really triggering the pistol well and also I was seeing the sights lift off the target better. With the narrower target it is more important that the front sight is perfectly centered in the rear notch when the shot breaks and I beleive that is an important aspect of aiming that I have allowed myself to overlook in the past. 8. I am alternating this drill with group shooting and "The Test". I shoot the limited blaster on 3 1/2"x3 1/2" sticky notes and Sue shoots her open gun on 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" business cards. My best is 30 yards and her's is 27 yards. This drill has more of a pressure factor than group shooting for me. This is due to the penalty of having to give up ground when you miss and work your way back. Just like plunking a No Shoot or throwing a Mike in a match. I'll definitely keep this in my drill reps. Later Dave
  9. Thanks for all the help! The part number you gave me is for the HK93. I'm not sure if that will also fit the 91. However, B&T does make a low mount for the G3/91, part number BT21174, that ought to work just fine. What are your thoughts? Thanks again. Dave
  10. I looking for the cleanest method to mount an Aimpoint on an HK91. There are a lot of products out their and I know some one on this forum has tried a few and has a favorite. Thanks David Benzick
  11. I'm just getting back into training and plan to establish a good base of fundimentals before working with the timer again. I found this drill today at lunch and the wife and I shot it this afternoon. What an excellent drill. Sue got back to 25 yards with an open pistol shooting at a business card and I got back to 23 yards with my limited gun on a 3X4 card. Couldn't find a 3X5 or I might have made it to 25. Thanks Flex! FEDEX

I had the same problem with FedEx, for a while. They wouldn't drive the 1/2 mile steep driveway and just dropped things at the neighbors. I called a few different numbers at FedEx and asked why the guys in brown were able to perform so much better than FedEx drivers. The problem is now resovled. Now FedEx drivers always make it to the top of the hill and are very courteous when they get there. Later David Benzick
  13. Thanks for all the input. I'll pass this along and let him make a more informed decision. I agree that Milt Sparks' Executive Companion is one of the finest IWB holsters I've ever used. I'm sure he'll check out Kydex products also. Thanks again for the great replies. Dave
  14. Hi Everyone, I know that Brian's Forums are for competition topics but I value the opinions of the members enough to risk the wrath of the moderators and so will ask a defense oriented question. My good friend just bought at S.A. XD Compact 45 and needs a good IWB carry holster. Please share you opinions. Also, if you have suggestions that would make this pistol more user friendly I'd like to hear those as well. I have never seen an XD so am not much help to him without your contributions. Thanks David Benzick
