I have been a member for some time and found some very useful information here in the past. This I my first time posting and asking for advice. Due to “old age”, I am thinking about switching from production and limited to Carry Optics. My production gun is a SP01 shadow and my backup a CZ 75 shadow TAC II which I both enjoy shooting, but favorite gun is my Tanfo Limited Custom. I am trying to decide between a SP01 Shadow RDS 91158 and a CZ 75 bull shadow OR 91725. The red dot will be a Trijicon SRO. Does anyone have experience with the Bull shadow? I picked the SP01 over the shadow 2, when I started, because I thought 1 gun for IDPA and USPSA would be an advantage but I am gravitating more and more to USPSA. BTW I can’t afford open. Any suggestions and/or advice on which C.O. gun to pick? The Tanfo “fits” my hand better than the SP01/75 but it is a no go for CO. By fit, I mean the larger grip; both of my CZ have modified Lok Palm swell grips. My hand position is also “higher” on the Tanfo which I like.. I also don’t want to spend the money on an Atlas and buy all new mags :o), not saying that I don’t want one just can’t afford one. sp01 RDS vs cz75 Bull OR vs shadow 2 OR vs the gun I didn’t think about?

I have been shooting Single Stack since before it was a separate division. I am now wanting to try CO division and want to see what everyone else is using. I have it narrowed down to a Sig P320 X5 Legion topped with a Trijicon SRO optic stuffed into a RHT holster. How am I doing so far? What magazine is everyone using? I am only finding Sig branded mags, are there aftermarket ones worth considering? Grams Springs and followers? Base pads? What about mag pouches? I've seen and read the 2019 USPSA Equipment survey but wanted to find out what the rank and file were using. Photos if you can!

Folks, I am attempting to install a Vortex Venom 6 mil on my S&W M&P 9 Pro (5"). I obtained a Venom dove tail mount (Vortex 5110). When I installed it, I added the "shim plate". It had two dimples in the middle of the 1st third of the plate and four parameter holes. I place the plate, as directed, over the four corner pins of the mount base and place the Venom on the top of the shim plate. Tightened everything down. The Venom has a slight cant to it (higher towards the muzzle) caused by the dimples on the shim plate (more than a 1/16th). Also, the screws provided by the mount obtained for the M&P did not fit the Venom's mounting screw holes and had to be drilled/reamed out. So what is the issue if I have followed the directions? Wow, the red dot is not even close to the front sight - it is significantly higher - not sure co-witnessing the dot and front sight is even practical. Questions: 1. Has anyone one else done the same - Venom on a S&W M&P Pro (not a CORE) and experienced the same issue? 2. Any ideas on what the shim plate is for? 3. Is that upward/front cant normal? Thoughts, suggestions, welcome Thanks

Good day all - Being a decent shooter in Production and Limited 10 Divisions, I've recently ventured into the Carry Optics Division...sort of. I had a Trijicon RM07 (6.5 MOA) fall into my lap (good deal), so picked it up. No pistol to put it on yet, so backwards to start off (maybe?). Thoughts on a pistol to mount the optic on are: FNS-9L - would have to mill the slide, get the mount plate, etc...Top half of the FNS slide isn't as wide as the RMR, so may be "funny looking" and odd to shoot (don't know). Unsure if the FN slide can even be milled, based on how it's made and the internals of the slide... M&P 40L CORE version - Like it, regularly shoot the M&P 40 Pro Series (4.25" barrel) in Prod/L10 divisions, have the mags and set-up (unless different holster is needed due to the 5" barrel of the CORE version. M&P 9 CORE - minor PF only (so far), new to me 9mm vice the .40SW for USPSA, would require all new set-up and extra mags, etc. Anything else... Looking for advice from the experienced CO shooters and anyone else's thoughts on it, as am not set one way or another. And have time to decide, not in a huge rush to run out and get something "tomorrow". Thanks in advance all! Cheers!

X Carry maybe a good option for Carry Optics division since site radius is not important. Shorter and lighter slide might track better and it seems the grip is the same as the XFIVE minus the magwell.

At our USPSA match this weekend (Richmond, CA) we hit 9 folks shooting Carry Optics out of 130 total. I believe all had shot CO at least once before or maybe one new addition/first match. So slowly but surely growing. ... and there were still some who've shot CO before that were not here this weekend, we could have been bigger :-) Anyone had a match > 10 CO yet? Was this largest CO match to date for USPSA? (Area 1, Area 2, and a sectional were all about 1/2 this FWIW)
