jmarlowe
I am planning to purchase the SW Model 25 Classic version which according to specs is designed for 45 long colt. Can it be moonclipped and loaded with 45acp? I intend to use it in IPSC matches. I think the 6.5in barrel which has a half lug has the ideal weight and sight radius for action type shooting... Jim Watson
As is, no. Pinnacle will cut your cylinder for clipped ACPs. I don't know what kind of accuracy you would get with the long jump through the Colt cylinder.
Toolguy
It should shoot just fine.
mikey357
One thing to keep in mind with the Model 25 "Classic" is that it's NOT a "Model 25" at all...not with that tapered, "Skinny" barrel...S&W SHOULD HAVE called it a Model 26... ...and then there's the issue of it being chambered in .45 Colt...Converting it and "Moonclipping" it for .45 ACP would PROBABLY work ok, but why do that when you can find a "Real" Model 25 for LESS $$$ THAN you'd end up spending on the .45 Colt/.45 ACP "Hybid"???...HTH....mikey357
