jmorris
I finally got some time to do a little more work on the automation of the cacepro. I welded a little tab, onto the set collars that I used as a clutch off of the drive motor, to keep them located properly when they slip (different calibers take different torques). I also had a counter I purchased at a local surplus store I mounted so I know how many cases have been sized. I made a pass through the base plate out of box tubing and used the same basket that I use for my auto annealer to catch them. And the videos are here http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o213/jmorrismetal/reloading/casepro/?action=view¤t=casepro.flv http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o213/jmorrismetal/reloading/casepro/?action=view¤t=casepro1.flv

Alan Adamson
been doing a little thinking around this topic as well. I have a PW Autodrive on my 1050, it just happens that the throw and height are pretty much the same as the CasePro would need.... It would take a different footprint and the connector arm is too long, but the clutch would be already handled and so would the slow speed motor. I may contact the manufacturer and see what parts costs would be to create a similar type device. If we could get off the shelf stuff, it might be relatively easy to create a similar approach. Just thinking outloud ya know. Alan

jmorris
been doing a little thinking around this topic as well. My first thought is an $800 PW auto drive setup would be an insane amount of money for the simple task. Then a few guys asked me what motor I used, It was just one laying under my casting machine collecting dust, so I looked it up and at almost $450 I would have found something else or just made a gear reduction. This is the motor http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/search.shtml?searchQuery=6z818&op=search&Ntt=6z818&N=0&sst=All Now if you already have a PW auto drive you are good to go. The length of the connector arm doesn't have anything to do with it as long as the case pro slide doesn't run into the motor on the back stroke. It's the stroke that counts. You could just mount the case pro to a plate that the PW auto drive sits on top of, so the case pro is behind the 1050. A ball detent pin to make it a fast swap from it driving the 1050-case pro would be a good idea. IIRC the PW drive connecting rod is threaded 7/16 20 so you could just weld a nut to a set collar and use the same arm if you wanted to. Hmm, now I'm going to have to do that with the other case pro. someone also asked about the set collars, I get them at a local bearing supply but I found them online here. http://agsupplyonline.com/.sc/ms/cat/Hardware--Double%20Split%20Set%20Collars
