Sac Law Man
When I practice, I shoot a lot of Bill drills, usually going back to 20 yards. A few weeks ago I scanned through Brian's book and Plaxco's book, I was reading the part on stance and balance. I decided to go back and revisit the fundamentals of my stance. Apparently I had not been very solid (balanced) because once I re-applied the fundamentals of balance, things clicked. It seemed as if I stayed on target with much less effort, my hits were better and times faster. It was like a light went on.
Flexmoney
Good stuff. I always like to relate it to shooting basket ball. While making off-balance shots are certainly doable, there is nothing like getting solid and squared up for a foul shot.
2MoreChains
I've been experimenting with this for the last few months as well. What seems to work for me is to widen my stance a little beyond the width of my shoulders with my knees slightly bent. It felt like I was exaggerating my stance for a while, but it is now starting to feel natural. My shooting has improved, and I like how I can push off better when I need to move as opposed to standing upright with my feet closer together. benos
Also, after arriving at a position, good balance is vital before shooting. be
