Glock 34 with the RTF frame?

Is there such a thing as a Glock 34 with the RTF frame? I was thinking about building a 34 with a CCF metal frame but I really like the RTF frames that on the new 22's and 17's, that would suffice. Are 34's available with the RTF frame?

The only RTF2 frames currently available are the G22 and the G17, supposedly to be followed up by the G19 and G23. That's all I have heard of to date.

I took the RTF 17 frame and put it with my G34 top. Works fine. Not sure of its legality for Production. It should be ok-it's the same frame.

Because it's there is no RTF 34 as an approved model on the USPSA Approved Production Gun List, this sort of mixing and matching is not legal for Production. The RTF17 is on the list now, however.

According to Glocks 2011 Annual catalog, both the G34 & 35 are offered with the RTF frames.

Yes, your RTF G17 frame is OK and is authorized in the rule book under Appendix D-4 rule 21.4 The 2011 Glock annual catalog shows the G34 with an RTF frame to be available for purchase as a factory installed frame. The G17 frame and the G34 are the same.

The RTF 2 is still authorized in the rule book under Appendix D-4 rule 21.4 because the RTF is still in the same place, it's just a different type of texturing. A little more "tacky" they call it. There is no change in the frame itself, only the stipling or in this case, the RTF.

Regardless of any of the above, you cannot put any G17 frames with a G34 slide, be they Gen 3 (RTF), RTF2, or Gen 4. The only way to get a G34 with an RTF2 frame in Prod is for the requirements to be met to put it on the official list.

I wish they would make such a gun, but I'm not holding my breath.

I refer you to a reply from John:

Glock has not indicated that the RTF2 is available for the model 34 and 35 along with several other models, currently it is only approved in the model 17.

John

My question was:

In reference to Glocks…is the RTF2 frame approved for use with a Glock 34 for Production Division?

Thanx,

Please refer to John Amadon's answer to my question regarding the use of RTF2 and the G34. What you posted and highlighted refers to the G17 and G22 only. This thread is talking about G34s.

OK .....OK if you read all of my reply you will see that I did say:LThe only one not on there yet is the G34 &35 RTF2 I thought you were asking just about the G17 RTF2 or any RTF2 on the market in general. You are correct. There are not enough G34 or G35 RTF2's on the market yet to be Production legal. And from now on, the general answer to any questions concerning USPSA Production on whether or not you can or cannot do something, the answer is generally gonna be NO or It Depends. 99% of the time, the answer is NO. There are only a very few things you can do in Production Division. It's one of the hardest ones to keep up with the rules in USPSA right now. So just figure that you cannot do anything unless John says so, and 99% of the time, he's gonna say NO too, so get ready. Keep checking back to the NROI web site on occasion to see when the G34 RTF2's will be allowed.

Shoot Safe,

Termite
