2009 Courage Classic

Recommended Posts

The Courage Classic Charity Multi-gun match is next August 15 & 16th at the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club in Bremerton, WA. It is an outlaw match scored time plus. Proceeds benefit the Combat Casualty Assistance Campaign of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. No prize table, but there will be a silent auction for some fun stuff.

Usually 11 or 12 stages over 2 days and it is alot of fun. There is a 360 degree bay stage that you have to shoot to appreciate. Long range rifle up to 200 yds. I don't have a round count, but if you bring 250 pistol, 200 rifle and 100 shotgun and 20 slugs you should be OK.

If you live in the Seattle area it is worth the trip. Info at http://www.gunsafety.org. Get your applications in early for a free lunch.

Hi,

I'll be shooting this match next weekend and was wondering if there were any updates?

Bill

We are finishing the stages today, ROs shoot on Friday. Be ready for the Polish Plate Rack! I put it on a shotgun only stage along with some flying clays, should be a hoot!

Missed it. Sh$t

Carlos,

We shot 8 stages today with low 70s and overcast weather and were off the range at 3PM. Very challenging and fun 8 stages with

great ROs. Today was all pistol and some SG / pistol and one SG only with Doug Hartley as the RO with 22 shots. Young Tim Hawkins

(age 16) shot this stage in 25 seconds, the 2nd fastest time of the day, including the infamous Polish 8 plate rotating plate rack with a

borrowed Saiga SG because his dad's Saiga SG gun puked :-) Tommorrow is the 4 stages of rifle and SG, we should be done with the

whole Match including the Auction Table Benefit by 3:00PM Sunday.

The scores are in for the 2009 Courage Classic. Competitors battled 12 stages over 2 days, including the Polish Plate Rack Stage, the 360 Bay Suprise stage and more! Greg Purcell took 1st in Open, Lee Peffer took 1st in Limited and Tim McDowell took 1st in Tac Optics. Winning team was "Team Last Minute", Doug Hartley (ME), Bill Sahlberg and Tim Hawkins. Top Law Enforcement Team was Bremerton PD (Names omited to protect the innocent).

Next year we will be moving to a 8 stage, single day match, I hope more of you will attend.

Crazy fun, really enjoyed the match. Great job!

Winning team was "Team Last Minute", Doug Hartley (ME), Bill Sahlberg and Tim Hawkins.

Congratulations team! Also Mr. Hartley, you left out a teammate. Mr. Purcell was a "Last minute" addition to our team, thus the name.
