I'm all about believing in exceeding limitations, but until I see a video of this it's gonna be under suspicion.

What division does he shoot? USPSA number? Which clubs does he normally shoot in?

If this is true he should probably shoot the steel challenge this year.

That does put the draw in the 50's or so.

I've never convinced the USPSA RO's of this, but I know from shooting Steel Challenge that the shooter can get the timing of the RO down...allowing for some pretty good draw times. (that's not cheating in any way...the shooter probably doesn't even realize they are doing it).

I always use a random delayed start.

Any way you cut it...fantastic run.

He shoots in limited and the only club i've ever seen him at (only club i've ever gone to for local) is Arnold Rifle and Pistol Club. Number is Axxxxx. Him and his brother are very, very good. (Tim).

Just looked and he's A class but only 3% from M. Same for L10 but 1%. I know he shot the .89 with his limited gun. The draw is easily doable. .59 draw could easily through hard work and practice be achieved. I know the GM's get it. Heck i'm almost sub .7 draws and i'm only 15! :D

That's true....a .59 draw can be attainable through hard work (I wouldn't say easily though)....but I'd be willing to bet you won't see very many (read any) GM's making a .59 draw to a 10 yard target in match conditions.

I'm not saying he didn't do it.....but I am saying I'd really like to see it on video.

I'm not disputing it in any way. I'm sure it happened. but anything under sub .7 with reliablity is nuts!

At area 5 i was there when manny bragg shot a .84 draw on a target ... he was amazed himself and said it was the fastest draw he'd had in a match.

While fast single times are great! i think it is best to be smooth through out what your doing and be consistant.

This time was phenomenal, and happens a lot in that bracket, letting it all hang out going for broke.

I really wish I had it on video too. I see where you're coming from Jake. Had I not seen the timer I would be questioning the run too. I'll see if i can find some proof of it. I'm sure I can somewhere. Let's pray!

Steel match this Saturday, at Arnold, ya gonna be there Kyle?

I'm the guy who is usually lugging around a video camera on a tripod, in addition to the range bag.

You can more easily access the steel vids from Arnold by going to video.google.com and typing in "tackleberry productions + steel" in the search window.

Yes, Todd and Tim are both very fast.

I just haven't been squadded together w/ them to video 'em.

My "posercam" might have been delivered, so vids could be up on video google by next Tuesday, of Saturday's steel match.

Wish I could be there but .45 ammo costs too much for two people. David and me. I will be at the Pro-am this year though. It is on my birthday. :) I think that is the next steel match i'm gonna be at.

Ya we do reload but 1 normal steel match is about 500 rounds and one box of 500 .45 bullets is like $30.xx. Also with primers going up it costs too much. Not to mention we always shoot on thursdays at Top Gun. That is the main reason I think.

I don't know if i could shoot anything but a .45 for competition. My buddy let me shoot his 9mm CZ and I had problems with the recoil ( lack therof) that girly little 9mm just isn't enough bullet for me. :D Joking, of course.

Does that match on Thursdays actually have a name? I have heard they don't let you start w/ the gun in the holster, draw at the buzzer.

If you ever make it over to the east side, the Belleville Indoor Shooting Range has a Fight Night every Tuesday night. Cost is $10, it is IDPA style, emphasis on the style part. Concealment garment isn't required, but you still can't drop your mags all over the place like you'd normally see in an IPSC match. They do draw from a holster over here. They are actually supposed to start having IDPA on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month starting around 4 PM. So if you shoot IPSC at ARPC on Sunday morning, you could go eat lunch at Case and Bucks and then mosey on across the JB bridge to Hwy 15, and then you're there.

IIRC, I shot only about 130 to 150 rounds at today's steel match. Try Hi-Tech ammo for bullets:

http://hi-techammo.com/

You can check on other reloading componets through them too. They are right in St. Louis. I've met Steve H. (the owner) at matches before and called ahead and he's brought the stuff to the matches for me. Talk about customer service!

Well, yeah, he was there to shoot the match, too. It saves me a special trip into St. Louis.

The last Thursday of the month is the Tactical match which is IPSC style but no holster draws, all from table. Too worried about some of the people AD-ing into the concrete floor.

The first Thursday of the month is the Practice macth which is either IPSC or bowling pins. Second Thursday of the month is Bowling Pin match. Nothing on third thursday. Must be a member to compete in matches. Great payout too. !st in tactical is up to like 70$ sometimes. We might just have to use those bullets too, Thanks for telling me! I would go over to the other place but I hate EYE DEE PEE AYE style stuff. Plus i'm only 15 so it's up to David what matches we shoot. Thanks anyway though I'll tell him about the other match and the bullets and primers. Here is a link if you are interested in Top Guns matches and there is other info that you might find useful.

Double trouble:

Try as I might the fastest draw to first shot on Double Trouble was a 1.16, twice. There were a couple of other stages where I was trying to push it too much and had some misses.

ArGGG!!! Too much caffeine I think, that and the cold. On one of the stages, you might actually make out the snow flakes falling.

Weird, how when it all comes together, you make your hits, and you're smooth how slow it seems, and then you look at the timer display.

"Wow! I shot it that fast. Cool!"

Smokin' on that tree. I know exactly what you mean about the super fast runs seeming slow. Had one match at Top Gun where i felt like i was going so slow and i got 2nd. would have had first but kepa was next to unbeatable.

Thanks Chris, you are way too kind!

Well, yeah, it's kinda like a waltz, a really fast one. :D

(okay, sometimes it's more like break dancing in a mosh pit)

It was actually more a comment on the "metronomeness" of hitting the Texas Tree, consistently.

Gentleman, I’m 15 and I’m still learning. In regard to my earlier post about Todd running a .89 on double trouble the statement that I saw the timer is a lie. Now it is true that I heard about the time, but I did not see it. I love shooting and this sport. I have dreams about shooting. I think about how to improve in any spare time I have. I love everything that shooting involves. Please let it be known that this is not an excuse, but I wanted to let you know where my head was at the time. I love to read some of the incredible stories that you guys write and I was simply looking for a story of my own. I just need to be more patient. I apologize for my lie, I know that I have been taught better and I am completely ashamed of myself. My only hope is that you do not think badly of me for what I have done. I hope that in some way admitting the wrong that I have done on this public forum that I can regain some credibility. Again I am very sorry.

-Kyle
