I have a 2011 and i want to change the grips and have it hard chromed. How hard is it to prep,send out and reassemble? I'm sure whoever you choose to do the hard chrome could put on your grip in a jiffy. Hard chrome will not hurt your gun if you choose a good gunsmith. Send it to Accurate Plating http://www.apwcogan.com/ with the other grip you want on it and give them instructions on what you need. It'll come back beautiful and they back their work. The gun can go to the plater and back to you without any issues; it's not a "transfer"....that's when you start getting into deep legalities.
