Hey QuicksDraw!
I am new to three gun and am putting together my gear to shoot limited. I have a Mossberg 590A1 pump, 25 Snap Caps to practice my reload, and nothing to hold them. What should I use to hold my shells and what is the prefered reloading method? Thanks in advance... Zak Smith
I recently "converted" to Taran Butler's technique as described in the latest Front Sight magazine, but I do three at a time instead of four 'cause my hands a bit smaller. -z
blkbrd
I have had the best luck using an armband and a side saddle, and using a hip holder just for the big stages. Having real small hands picking up 4 shells out of a carrier just puts 2 on the ground. If you flip the gun and pull it in close you can get real fast with an armband and sidesaddle as you dont have to move your hands much. This is in front sight also. I have found using shells with dark cases vs. red on the sidesaddle and armband helps with target pickup.
rhino
I'm slow and only C-class, but . . . I carry my shotshells in a belt with elastic loops. I wear it above my regular belt (higher on my belly).
PacMan
Choate Shell Caddys. you can get them directly from http://www.riflestock.com item #600922, or order the improved version with belt clip from Brownells. Both are around $20-$25. Loading is up to you, both weak hand or 'flip-and-burn' strong hand method have been discussed here previously. Have fun at it.
