astephenson
Picking up my Ready Tactical holster and speedloader pouches on Tuesday...Comp III's should be here sometime this week. It'll be shooting it's first match Saturday.
Bill Schwab
Very nice 6-shooter. What grips are they?
astephenson
They're the stock grips on the SSR. It also came with a set of Uncle Mikes finger-groove rubber grips that are on it right now. I found it was easier to get a consistent grip on it with the grooves.
Tacblack
Nice wheel gun. I was thinking it would be great IDPA gun also. From the factory will these take moon clips?
ChristopherG
The 686SSR is not moonclipped (though the 627 also in the 'pro' series is). That's okay; with a pile of practice, he'll be able to dazzle his shooting buds with the proper use of the comp III's! (Moonclips would bump him out of the IDPA category the gun is named for--Stock Service Revolver--anyway)
astephenson
Got the rig together and shot a couple of matches this weekend. Love it!
Calmwater
Sheep, You should shoot photos for the magazines. That or you just always pick stuff I like. I was almost upset to hear you sold the two tone 17 but then you posted these picks of another of my favorite handguns. Good taste. Hope you enjoy your new game............ astephenson
Thanks, CW! I'm really not the photographer in the family...it's my wife's camera and it does all the work (Digital Rebel XT). It's a couple generations old now, but it still takes great photos, so we're not gonna upgrade anytime soon. Don't worry, I still have the two-tone G34 that replaced the 17:
GIO
VERY nice Revo. I wish SW never put that stupid lock (hole) in the side of the gun. Best of luck. If you want to sell your take-off grips let me know. GIO
