3GunF1Guy
Here is my new 6.5 Creedmoor. The action is a Stiller Tac30 purchased throug a Snipershide group buy. The barrel is a Mike Rock also purchased through a Snipershide group buy. The trigger is a RifleBasix varmint model puchased from Midway on sale. The scope is a Meopta 4-16x44 puchaed from eurooptics.com when he had a sale on them. Only 5 rd through it so far. I'll have to wait till about 50 to see how it really shoots. warpspeed
Scott, Sweet! btw - What is the difference between the 6.5 Creedmoor and a 260 Rem ?
bigbrowndog
260 is based on the 308, and the 6.5 appears to be a 300 Savage necked to 6.5. trapr
3GunF1Guy
Scott,Sweet! btw - What is the difference between the 6.5 Creedmoor and a 260 Rem ? About 2mm in length. It allows the long 140gr bullets to sit a little farther forward on the case mouth. Also the 6.5CM has 30deg shoulders and almost no case taper. Is sort of a 260AI but 2mm shorter case length. Factory brass and ammo from Hornady. Scott
warpspeed
I did a google search http://demigodllc.com/articles/6.5-shootou...-6.5-creedmoor/ I had a 260 once upon a time and really liked it, just never shot it.
fastshooter03
What kind of velocity are you getting with the 140s? Nick
3GunF1Guy
I'm still working up a load for it right now. With Hornady 140 gr A-Max and 39.5 gr of RL-17 about 2600 but we still have a long ways to go. I'll let you know. But the factory ammo from Hornady is the 140 at 2800 and the 120's at 3020. scottmilk9
a couple of my buddies have the 6.5 creedmore and they like it. i shoot a 260, only because when i got it the 6.5 creedmore wasn't out yet. They are very close in ballistics, the advantage to the 6.5 creedmore is barrel life over the 260.
