Glock 37 And Reloading

Have a couple of questions about the Glock 37's new round..

1. Is the case the same as a .45 ACP but just cut down?

(As in, can I just trim 45 ACP brass and use them for the new G37.)

2. Is the diameter of the bullet the same as the .45 ACP?

(As in, can I use normal [and widely available] .45 ACP bullets

for reloading the G37?)

I don't know much about this gun or cartridge but I have seen quite a few posts on GlockTalk about it. Although it may occasionally be a bastion of hate and verbal abuse, informational threads are there, you just have to find them! Try the "General Glocking" section.

Then again, someone here may have all the info you could ever want.

My inderstanding of the round it that it is basically a shortened .45 ACP but like the 10mm/40 I think it has a small primer? If that is indedd the case then shortening .45 ACP wouldn't work too well.

Again, as I understand it, the .45 Glock round uses the same bullets as the .45 ACP but it uses them on the lighter end of the spectrum.

If you are seeking .45 ACP w/ small pistol primer pockets, the Federal non-toxic factory ammo comes with cases that have small primer pockets - I hate the stuff since it really boogers up my reloading sessions w/ the 650. No idea abou the new .45 Glock ammo though. Didn't see it at this weekend's GSSF. Anyone see one up close?
