Ken Hallock did the Bo-Mars, de-horned, and finally sent it to METALIFE. updated with new pics, old server died....... now shooting this... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v488/der...STItripp013.jpg Edited April 22, 2006 by Derek45
ErikW
Does it really have that blue-green tint to it, or is it just the picture? I think I had a gun Metalifed and it was basic matte hard chrome in color.
Flexmoney
Nice. That is a lot of hand work. For some reason, I like the character it had before you had it refinished. (you mihjgt have to rough it up a little. )
rhino
. . . blended a CMC extreme beavertail. That's a good looking gun! You should also post a photo of the inside of the mag well! Q: how much additional work was it to retrofit the Chip McCormick beavertail? Did you also recontour the beavertail itself, or is that the stock part? Jeffro
Ken Hallock did the Bo-Mars, de-horned, and finally sent it to METALIFE. Derek, Really nice piece and nice work. Ken Hallock is a really cool old guy who has been around forever. I used to tease him and tell him that I wanted him to share stories with me about what it was like helping John Browning develope the 1911!!! He is a really nice man, and always "throws in a little something extra" to make sure the customer is happy. I really like that old man, and he is a real bargain with his prices. I haven't seen him in several years, but really like him. Enjoy the blaster....... it looks great. Jeffro
SiG Lady
Derek-- I'll show you my magwell if you show me yours.... (No! the Kimber, you fool!!!!) Seriously... it's beveled.
Derek45
Thanks guys. The gun looks very much like stainless steel. The CMC beavertail will drop-in, but the receiver will overhang the CMC. I blended the frame to the beavertail. Yep, Hallock is a good man. If you look at the second pic, you can see the magwell is blended to the frame. rhino
The CMC beavertail will drop-in, but the receiver will overhang the CMC. I blended the frame to the beavertail. I might have some trouble with that since I have the Eclipse. It would be a shame to ruin the finish, but . . .
