solo 1000 & 1250

I recently got a can of each of them. My main goal is to find a cool burning, clean powder that will make a 130 PF from my 4" .38/357 revolvers and 158 grain plated bullets within published data for use in IDPA and USPSA. Solo 1000 doesn't make it, even going 10% over the listed max +P load. I haven't gotten around to trying the 1250 yet - I got a new M&P in .45, and have been distracted. ;) Solo 1000 does fine with 230 grain RNLs in .45 ACP, though, which is how I plan to use up the rest of the can.

Is anyone using these powders? Are they temp sensitive? Are they relatively clean? Can you get close to major 9mm with solo 1250? Thanks.

I'm using 4.5 grains of 1250 behind a 125 rn for a pf of 132. The case is pretty near full, almost a compresed load. The manual I have shows 4.8 gr of 1250, 115 gr rn gets 1121 fps.

Hi. I doubt you'll be able to get to 150pf easily/safely with N320. I know 4.2gr goes right about 125 to 128pf with 124's in a 4" XD.

I do like Solo 1000 for 9mm minor with 147's. 3.4gr under just about any 147 truncated cone is a joy to shoot. Out of my CZ I'm getting 126ish PF.

Both N320 and Solo 1000 are single base powders and very clean.
