ima45dv8
While I'm working this late (yeah, it sucks) I'm entertaining myself by playing some selections I grabbed before *apster got shut down. One of them was "Willing" by Little Feat/Lowell George. It reminded me of a story I got from a local DJ once that explained the origin of the band. Seems Lowell wrote this great song and took it to his boss to be considered for recording. His boss looked it over and said, Hell Yes it's good!. . . . . .but it's not our kind of music. They went back and forth like this over a period of time, to the point his boss eventually fired him. It was with the best of intentions, as he explained to LG: [paraphrase] "You won't be happy until it's recorded, but it's not the kind of song I do. So go forth and put together a band and record the damned thing!" And so Little Feat was born. Think of all we'd have missed if Frank Zappa (and the Mothers of Invention) hadn't run him off.... revchuck
Great song! Linda Ronstadt (back when she was half her present size and smokin' hot) and - I think - Seatrain covered it.
