JFlowers
Since I have changed my open gun from 357SIG to 38Super, I need to get my STI for Para 170mm tubes setup. I have ordered DP 170mm springs, DP Comp Followers, and I already have DP +1 Toolless Basepads. So what do I need to do to properly set these magazines up for 27/28 rounds? ChuckS
James, I can't give you any ideas on the Dawson internals since I use Grams but there is a gun issue you may encounter. The mag release on the Para frame does not extend very deep into the STI for Para tubes due to the longer taper than the Para tubes. I found that it took very little wear to the release to start allowing for the random release of the mags. Since the fix was either the tubes or the gun I took a look at the gun side of the problem first. I have done the following mod to the mag release and there has been no issues with the STI for Para tubes for the last 9000 rounds or so. JFlowers
Well, my Dawson parts came in and I assembled the magazines. With the stock parts, I am getting 26 rounds. So I am hoping someone will give me the secrets to tuning these.
Byron Simpson
I used Grams basepad, spring and follower (and SuperComp brass) to get 29 +1 in a STI for Para big stick. No clue on tuning the Dawson parts. Sorry. Edited July 24, 2007 by Byron Simpson
