I had a thread about refurbishing my old Baer. I sent the pistol to Virgil Tripp for some hard chrome. His work is outstanding.

Best of all, only one week round trip, including shipping time.

Ron,

That's good to hear. I just sent my STI short block down to Virgil, to be chromed. It's the first gun I've ever built, so it has a special place in my heart. I figured I sent it to the right guy (after all I'd want to do a good job on any pistol that has one of my initals in the company name!)

Glad Virgil did a good job for you. Enjoy that Baer!

Virgil and his company are great..I sent some parts for cobra coating on a wed, two-day UPS they were back on Tuesday...so they got there Friday, coated and back to shipping that day to be on my doorstep Tuesday morning...amazing service...the pistolsmithing I have seen from Virgil is very nice too...

Yup, I built it into a working gun before it was chromed.

I started with the short block kit with the S1 comp in .40. Put her all together and ran about 500 rounds through it at about a 200 powerfactor to check function. Happily I haven't had a moments problem with it since it was put together!
