Ted Murphy
I have seen some PPC guns where the front sight has a dial for the different distances (25 and 50 yds IIRC but its been a while) so they do not have to adjust for drop at the longer distance. Do some AP shooters using metallic sights have such a set up on their guns? TIA, Ted
BigDave
Rob Leatham uses an Aristocrat tri-set PPC sight on his 6" Bianchi gun. I've seen a few others as well. I think Robert Vadasz (sp? he came in 2nd, shoots for the US Border Patrol team) uses one also. It is a good setup.

Service Desk
I have the Aristocrat TS6 on my S&W Model 10 - it is basically a slab sided 1" Douglas barrelled PPC revolver. I have several of these - they do the job OK.

I don't think that you will buy a better made or more reliable sight than the Aristocrat.... but one that had a moving target style adjustable front sight would be the "BEST". gm iprod
For the adjustable front sight for Mover you need to contact a man by the name of Warren Moore, he is in Kansas City, Grant J has contact details, PM him and he may be able to help. Grant is a little busy with his preparation for the Cup so don't expect a quick response. Jerry Miculek has one of these front sights and uses the 3 position rear sight (not a full rib) on his 686 and it is awesome. I wish I could shoot an auto half as good (or fast) as Jerry shoots his revolver. The adjustable front sight won't fit my style of auto so I have to stick with leading the target. Greg in VA
On my rev I had an old Ron Power 4 position rib and cut off the rear sight and put it on the gun. I looked thru the gun catalogs and found a S&W style front sight base that has interchangable blades and put that on the front. Last year when I talked to Warren about the mover front sight the price was way out of my reach, so unless he has started making more of them you will have to dig deep. Ted Murphy
Are there sights you can put on that are adjustable for drop that do not require a rib? Ted
gm iprod
I think they were made by Power Custon (Grand Master LLC) or Clark Custom. Power Custom are in MO, but a fair drive from Columbia if you are going to the Cup,but they seem to now specialise in 10-22 and Ruger Cowboy guns, you will have to ask them. Warren's sights are expensive, there is no such thing as an excellent sight at a cheap price and if you look at the work required you know why. I would pay the price he is asking but it won't go on my auto. I am working on modifying the auto so I can fit one. Warren and I will have to talk very seriously this year. gm iprod
Found Les Baer Custom do a three position PPC Style Rear sight $160 plus shipping. http://www.lesbaer.com/parts4.html The internet ordering system is cumbersome, I suggest you call them and order over the phone. BPiatt
Aristocrat make a compact model. No rib just an adjustable rear sight. However.... now that we have the aiming center on the target, there will be no need to have the adjustments. Last year I used a bottom and top hold on the target. That won't be happening now that we have the dot on the target. Now you may need some adjustment for the 50 yd line, depending on your bullet speeds in the revolver. My 9mm at 1150 doesn't have enough drop to worry about. See you at the Cup. Bruce
