trg
I need a couple of new mags for my 1911. Stainless, 10 rd, 38 Super. I'm looking at these: "Chip McCormick Shooting Star Magazine 1911 Government, Commander 38 Super 10-Round Stainless Steel" Are they ok?
born-in-45
YES! I have a number of Chip's mags and they have functioned flawlessly in my singe stacks. Have used 10 rounders in L10 with great results (no problems). The fact that you can buy the 10 rounders from MidwayUSA at a very reasonable price is frosting on the cake. trg
I've just read some negative posts on the Shooting star mags. http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=61318 It seems like the follower may damage the frame especially on aluminium framed guns. Any comments anyone? Edited May 25, 2007 by trg
MarkS_A18138
Chips mags work great as long as you don't try 9mm in them!
JFD
I've never used anything I liked better than factory Colt mags. Can't stand Wilson mags, although I don't think they are available anymore. The Wilson guts in a Colt mag was the only reloadable 10 round combination I could find. Wilson used to replace my cracked followers every 3 months before the gun entered semi-retirement. Now my Colt mags were all purchased between 1969 - 1985, so they may have turned to crap since then.

GENE S
Chip McCormick shooting stars are the only way to go, They come with base pad already on. BUT they are out of stock at the moment. I have a order in through Cheaper than Dirt and it will be about three weeks to get them. It is the only mag to use in a 1911. Gene
trg
I've borrowed 3 Shooting star mags from a buddy but haven't tested them yet. It doesn't seem like there's going to be any problems. The gun feeds just fine with dummy rounds.
