Spaceghost
I'm getting some parts together for a gun and my gunsmith asked me to get an Ed Brown guide rod head. He intends on making is own rod to the proper length. Brownells dropped this part and a call to Ed Brown was answered with 'we don't produce just the head for sale any longer' Anyone know of another company that just sells the head? I assume I can just order a rod just separate the head from the rod if I have to... BTW.. no rod and head jokes!
warpspeed
Call George @ EGW. They make there own so perhaps they will sell you just the head. They also sell some other parts you may want.
Loves2Shoot
They are so cheap why would he waste time making one would be the question I would ask.
Spaceghost
1. Warp... Good suggestion. I just ordered a comp and some other small parts from Geo last week.. I would have asked about the head but I hadn't confronted the Ed Brown issue at that point. I might give him a call back. 2. Scott... I didn't ask.. but my gunsmith is Eddie Jimenia and he is well known around here and he is also a good friend and he doesn't do things unless he has a reason. I'm going to guess it is either because he feels stock rods are undersized or because he wants to make it longer than a typical 5" He also makes his own reverse plugs. Thanks for the input guys.. CSEMARTIN
my gunsmith is Eddie Jimenia and he is well known around here and he is also a good friend and he doesn't do things unless he has a reason. I have had problems with stock guide rods. Perhaps Eddie has had the same experience as I have.
