Harmon
al, were bullets hitting the comp, or you switch to bullseye powder and lead bullets? Jimmy mitchell beware! i think it could be the brass too, 1930 vintage Peters 38 ACP brass could be the fix. INSTANT GM scores!... AL, is it really fixed? i guess the trusty caspeeen will take another shooter to the top! Harmon
Al Capizzo
Harmon, Harmon, calm down. No its not fixed, at least not that I know of. I'll find out Saturday or Sunday, I haven't been back to the range. I still think its a worn out barrel, but I hope I'm wrong.
Al Capizzo
Maybe I've got it straightened out. Now that the comp is not turning, at all, things seem to be o.k. My theory is that since the slide has to position itself on the cone (of the comp) any movement at all will mean the slide is not locking up consistently. So the barrel is in essence flopping around. I guess. We'll see how this goes over the next month or two. Thanks all for your help on this. By the way, I did accidently buy a new gun. How was I to know it was this simple? bgary
By the way, I did accidently buy a new gun. I *love* that. "Honey, it was an accident! I didn't mean to buy that gun, it just... happened!" B

ipscbob
I've got a whole safe of accidental guns! Good to hear the problem is fixed. Worst case and this causes the bullets to actually strike the comp. Best case and the system acts like a barrel with a bad crown.
