if you mean the straight line length (from the rear point of the frame to the most forward point of the barrel as a straight line) i measured mine (stock barrel) at 8 & 7/8 inches.

if you mean an actual diagonal line from the frame up to the barrel, i get 9 & 15/16 inches.

Gary,

Sound like are looking for a "fit in the box" demension...

8.25 inches will do it, with just a wee bit of room to wiggle. (maybe an 1/8 of wiggle)

Measurement taken by putting the gun muzzle (straight) up on the bench, with the back of the gun touching down in two points on the bench...base of the backstrap and the back of the beavertail (the beaver tail just barely bottoms out before the back of the slide does). Then, I measured to the highest point, from the bench top.

I measured both a G34 and a G35.

My measurement takes the grip angle into account...which is why my measurement is shorter than driver8M3's measurement.

When I include the grip angle, that makes the length shorter, but the angle makes the height taller. The height I'd need would be 6.50, which would give 0.25 inches of wiggle room here (allowing for various sight heights).

With my measurement, I'd need 8.25 x 6.50 inches.

With driver8M3's measurement, I'd need probably go 9.00 x 5.50 which would give some wiggle and allow for various sights.

(the hanging off the rear bomars would be gone)

Give me a call if that is confusioning.

Oh...if our rulebook was phyically a half inch taller...it might serve as a great rough measure (something to think about)
