gunther
Has any one got any data on loads that just make major like around 325 pf, does it reduce recoil much, like what bullet wieghts are being used. What is a good powder to use. Thank you
P.E. Kelley
Heavy Metal is not about "just making" major. But if you must, work with 150 grain bullets and Varget. Check out the Front Sight magazine article "Build or Buy"and see if building your own is really needed. Patrick
Phil Dunlop
I'm working a 110gn load for my L1A1 at the moment. Its much softer shooting, not in the same league as a 223 though. I haven't had a chance to chronograph, but the book, suggests it should be close to 320pf. I'm using australian powder ADI 2207, which is very similar to H4198 Has any one got any data on loads that just make major like around 325 pf, does it reduce recoil much, like what bullet wieghts are being used. P.E. Kelley
I am not sure how to make this link work but here is an attempt. I really like the Georgia Precision ammo. http://www.multigun.com/articles/buildorbuy.pdf Good luck Patrick

sargenv
I too like to use a lighter bullet and if you want something with at least a little more length than the 110, I like using the Speer 125 HP-TNT's. You can get these in the bulk packs. I get MOA accuracy using Remington Brass, Federal primers, and 45.0 gr of IMR 4895. I've used these in an M1A and they were reliable (no jams) and fed well. I seated them to a bit less than the internal length of the magazine. Vince
