According to shootersnotes.com which uses the powley computer formula, powder gases equal about 8% of the recoil.
for a 115gr 9mm bullet going 1152fps from a 8.5in barrel.
So i would have to say muzzle brakes on 9mm carbines are just fancy thread protectors!
I intend to run the 31rd ets or 31rd glock mag with the Taylor freelance +8 ext. that should get me close to close to 40rds in the gun. Possibly clamp two of together.

It's silly really, even the quietest 556 cans are still around 130db's. We have 20-30 shooters shooting .22's in steel challenge matches which are quieter I think. Never had issues with the timers.

I'd go with the 300blk you can get away with just swapping the barrel, any GI mags work fine. 110gr, 150gr bullets and anything in between work wonders!
I think they are planning on making .40's, later on down the road. 140mm mags for $21.95 an no need for $30-$40 base pads! Winner winner, big chicken dinner!
