Alan Meek
From the USPSA SSD Provisional rules "Slides will be in factory configuration or within the specified list of allowed modifications." From the permitted modifications.... "7. Cosmetic checkering/serrating and flat topping of slide to include cocking serrations." And the excluded modifications. "2. Slide lightening. (Removal of metal from the slide is permitted for the following: front and rear sights, front and rear cocking serrations, and flat topping and serration of the slide.)" But an email to John Amidon will get you the final answer. Alan

Gary Stevens
Mark, I can't be positive, as my memory is on overload at this point, but I think John Amidon and I talked about this and decided it was nothing but three flattop cuts and was therefore OK. Besides it falls under the provision of "factory configuration slide" as it is factory produced for the general public by STI. You should confirm this with John though. This is one of the areas I will be trying to clarify in the rules modifications for next year.
