Harmon Posted February 4, 2006 Share Posted February 4, 2006 SP2...the best 9mm major powder you cant get in the states.. wish somebody(hodgdon, ramshot...somebody) would import this...even if they rename it. a new name might help it sell also. even vihtavhouri could sell it here...idk what happened with the importation of it. also to answer your Q about a load. 9.1 makes major in my gun(38super). other shooters who use the brazos gun load from 9.4 to 9.6 also you dont need rifle primers with this powder... eric nielsen Posted February 4, 2006 Share Posted February 4, 2006 SP2 and HS6 have almost identical bulk density, but SP2 is just slightly slower-burning. So if your measure is set up for 9.5 of HS6, you'll drop about 9.5 of SP2 without turning the screw at all. And that's a good safe starting load, too, as you'll most likely end up with about 5% more SP2 to get the same power factor as the HS6 load.
