Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo!

Maybe you folks back in PA can help me understand this. Every year the groundhog comes out and if he sees his shadow, that means 6 more weeks of winter. seems to me if he sees a shadow, that implies there's sun out, so why the heck does that mean 6 more weeks of winter.

hey, it's friday-i'm bored and there's no matches this weekend...

Frankly I'm hoping the little critter was scared to death of his shadow. shrieked with fear, and returned to his den at break neck speed. We haven't had winter here yet in North Texas. If we don't get winter we will be over run with all manner of creepy crawlies. I just want one more good freeze for a day or two to rid us of the bugs.

I'm with you. You have to have couple of good 'killin' freezes to knock the bugs dowm. We haven't had them in Mobile either.

Jake,

isn't that what the .17 HMR round was developed for???

It appears we have conflicting groundhog reports:

I had no idea that there were so many...

It looks like the over sized rodent closest to me is the only one that predicted more winter. I'll volunteer to drive the two hours over and visit him...

To pull out something that Carlin might say: This is it, this is how far we've progressed? All the advances we made in the 20th century and we depend on an oversized rat to forecast the weather....
