mreed911
As with anything, which rule in the rulebook allows it? Hint: Start with Appendix D4, #21, and go from there. Edited June 30, 2023 by mreed911
shred
IPSC or USPSA Production? It's fine in USPSA, IDK about IPSC.

Page 57 for the exemptions, it's magazines, open sights, grip panels, springs, trigger assembly, hammer. https://www.ipsc.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/IPSC-Handgun-Competition-Rules-Apr-2023-Edition-Final-25-Apr-2023.pdf
Schutzenmeister
The key here (under IPSC rules) is that the Patriot Defense guide rod constitutes an aftermarket part. Hence, as @Kiwishoot correctly notes, it would not be legal. See Special Condition 19 (et al) on the page he references. I would note, however, that if Tanfolglio were be the ones making this part it would be legal for guns they make for which it would be intended to fit. See Special Condition 18 (et al), same document. JMHO, but I think that's a little nuts ...
