ASTIG
any ideas if this is even possible? i have 3 extra barrels that i've changed thru through the years from my 38s open gun. can i reuse them by having it rebored to 40sw and even use my old slides, since it is already pre-fit, to go with the barrel? thanks for inputs
uscbigdawg
Buy a new barrel and slide (Infinity if you want to change calibers in the future). SPC Richard A. White, Senior Medic 249th MP Detachment (EACF) Camp Humphreys, ROK
Larry White
The 9mm/38 super slide is not going to work with .40 s&w, breachface too small. I dont think there would be any or at least very little lands and grooves left after boreing. And by the time you had them bored and rechambered a new barrel would be cheaper.----Larry
GuildSF4
Breachface would need to be opened, and a new barrel would be cheaper...
XRe
In theory, it'd be possible to do something like. As the others have said, in all likelihood, in practice, it would be cheaper to buy a new barrel. Have you gunsmith cut the other barrels off just in front of the chamber - instant case gauges! And, yes, the breechface on the slides would have to be changed.
