OpenshooterMclass4lyfe
I recently acquired a STI DVC open gun. It came with 6 sti mags an I’m not too familiar with sti stuff. Can the gun run mbx mags? Are the mags that I have gen 1 or gen 2? How do you tell? Since I plan to use this gun for steel challenge only I was thinking about getting some 140s in their place and offloading the old sti mags that came with it but I want to be sure of their value and wether or not the gun can run with mbx mags. I would assume yes but I’d prefer a definitive answer from people more knowledgeable then me.
zombywoof
Those look like Gen 2. MBX should be fine
davsco
gen 1's don't have the caliber(s) inscribed on them so yours are gen 2. yes mbx will work just fine. using your 170's with the extra rounds in them over a 140 will add weight to the gun and should help reduce recoil and let you hold it steadier. but buy a 140 and see for yourself. Acsr
Same as above def gen2 sti mags, mbx will work as well my gen 2 mags have never been a problem atlas has a running video on YouTube for gen 2 mags if you have any issues but they have ran fine for me out of the box
