midatlantic
Have a new 1100, and have loaded about 2500 rounds. Yesterday I went downstairs to load some rounds and the last 1/4 of handle stroke was suddenly "muddy" and required significantly more pressure. Seems to be something to do with shell plate rotation. Before I pull it apart and pull off shell plate, anyone have any thoughts on what might cause an increase in resistance on the final 1/4 of stroke? Sarge
Sounds like a primer got in the way somewhere.
George16
If the brass wasn’t processed (decapped) initially prior to loading, check for primer pullback which prevents smooth indexing. The spent primer gets stuck halfway in the pocket and drags through the platform when the shellplate rotates. I had encountered this before I pre-processed my brass for reloading on an 1100.
