Miranda,

Thanks for a series of posts that provide absolute clarity to the problem. I came here to find a solution and you provided such with out bluster, Thanks!

Hi DryHeat,

your are welcome.   I really don't deserve all that thanking, I went looking for the same answers as you.

I found Castboolits.com and then spent a lot of time reading.

There, a bunch of guys did me the same favor.

I did not notice your post because I thought you were doing jacketed bullets and that less crimp would be your fix.

believe me, I am glad you are able to follow, 'cause I do not think I am a clear writer.

recent events have me re-stating this...

label or mark everything.  if you step away for a couple of months...

you will not remember what powder in the the hopper, primers in the feed, and which expander is the one for .357 bullets.

and exactly why did I put these three live primers in this small container...

Miranda,

I enjoy reloading because of the demanding nature. If you are not organized it is a tragedy waiting to happen. I do not criticize those who reload only because they shoot a lot, I say go for it and enjoy life. In the 90's when the plated bullets came out I tried them and didn't care for the results, I went back to jacketed bullets in the 9mm. I shot a lot of lead cast and swaged bullets, in cartridges that historically loaded with cast bullets. The shortages today have caused us all to try to get by. I think I have a couple cast loads that will do well enough.

I can't thank you enough for showing that you care about reloading and the reloading community. I went and logged on to Castboolits and I will farm that patch for info. THANKS

I am back to my reloading room.

I took a picture of the expander funnel I made and the die it fits

One of my dial calipers says it is .355 another says 356

it has a slight taper with the top being a little larger diameter

before the bell taper.

I suspect I tapered it in the polishing.
