mcoliver
Yep, still here. I checked out their Comex (Computer Exhibit or something) and looked around for players. The market is awash with these things followed very closely by the mouse (not sure what is is about them and the need for a mouse that comes in different colors, config, sizes, etc..). Anyway, how about sonic quality? Do they differ from the rest or are they entirely up to the quality of earphones you use? ...even more
George
The real cheapie players will not have enough oomph to drive good headphones. Any good player will benefit from better headphones. I think the Shure Ear Buds are the best available. The E2c and E3c are the hot ticket for the best sonic quality. The E4c and E5c would be overkill for an MP3 player. -- Regards,
mcoliver
Thanks a lot for the info George. Btw, any experience with sennheiser brand headphones? They're relatively very cheap here.
George
Sennheiser is good stuff, I am just not familiar with the new product line. -- Regards,

George
I was doing a little looking for the ratio of bad to good reviews on the iPod considering Rika's series of iLemon's. Here are the results of my internet fishing trips. Apple leads pack in consumer satisfaction index. Dell slips badly: http://www.computerworld.com/hardwaretopic...l?from=story_kc iPod get high ratings is user poll across the board: http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/retailer/17581/reviews I also came across a few good lists of FAQ's and troubleshooting tips/procedures for the iPod: http://www.ipodbatteryfaq.com/ http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20040423065341833 http://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.asp?p=28732&redir=1 Overall, I found no problem reports out there that upon examination were not due to the user ignoring basic issues concerning rechargeable battery technology and proper physical handling of handheld precision electromechanical devices. I was more than suprised by the lack of trouble reports found and overwhelmed by the "addictive reaction" this product seems to generate in users. This may explain why the few negative reports out there are very loud and plaintive ;-) -- Regards,
Jake Di Vita
I ordered the Nano a few days ago. I'll post a review when I've had a chance to play with it some.
weebles
I ordered the Nano a few days ago. I'll post a review when I've had a chance to play with it some. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Nanos seem to be extremely small, I have a hard time with my ipod mini, nevermind a nano. the one "beef" i have with ipods are the battery power, ipod batteries are only supposed to last all about 2 years before you have to buy a new battery [or ipod...]

Thomas Moore
jake, let me know how you like the nano. i saw it on the tele the other day and got real interested.
j2fast
In theory the nano should have good battery life, it's solid state (no hard drive) so it should use less power. I've been thinking about buying my wife a Mini (the iPod even though she wants the car) but I think I might pick a nano now. Add me to the list of those intested in a review. DJPoLo
And my wife, of course, has decided that she no longer wants an pink iPod Mini, but now wants the Harry Potter iPod. -Chet
