Permits are issued by the county sheriff or the police chief of a city over 200k population (it might be 250k). Most rural counties and some of Southern California issue to people with a clean criminal record. If you live in the Bay Area you need to be law enforcement or Nancy Pelosi. No matter what county it’s issued by, your ccw is good for the entire state. It’s surprising but California has fairly unrestricted ccw laws. Welcome to the forum!
