Lee G
I'm going to open the load port on my 1301, but I shoot long guns left handed. I can't find any examples of a strong handed modification for left handed shooters. It doesn't look like you can go as deep so I'm wondering if I'm better off just doing the same mod as right handed shooters.
stumpyv8
In a word, yes. Unfortunately you're going to be limited by the roll pins that hold in the shell catch
Eagle4
For over the shoulder loading with the left hand the 1301 isn't the best. But if you load with tout right hand it will be easier and also fast.
3GLewie
I am a lefty and learned to load 2 strong hand by moving the buttstock up on my shoulder and looking the rounds into the tube. Was decent at loading but I was constantly burning my right hand on the barrel. So when I bought a new M3K I decided to learn to weak hand load last off season. I did open the loading port a little on the right side, and smoothed the edges. Still load 2 but found I was loading quicker without the chance burning my hand. My suggestion is to spend these cold winter nights trying to load weak hand. 15-20 minutes a night and you will pick it up pretty quick. Good luck.
