franchi
hi everyone. just found this forum, so i appologise if ive posted in the wrong section. i am looking for help with my Savage Model 12FVSS. i bought this rifle (in 22-250) about 6 months ago and still have not used it! my problem is that i can not get hold of any scope mounts to fit it here in the uk. i did send off to the usa for a set, from a guy on ebay. he assured me that they were the right mounts, but when they arrived, they were for the long action, not short action model and they either shoot 20" high or 20" low (@100yds) can anyone suggest where to get some mounts from, anywhere in the world, or can anyone tell me what the hieght difference is between the front mount and rear mount, then i can grind down the ones i have now? i hope someone can help russ
PacMan
Try Brownells for Farrel Industries, Inc: Farrel Industries FG-Force Mount Model 12 is long action so I would think the 110 series would fit. There are also base with 0 MOA elevation and 20 MOA elevation built-in, what you bought probably a 20 MOA base.
JD45
I have a 12FV and use Weaver two-piece bases and rings. The bases are cheap and Weaver rings will hold a scope like grim death.
SGDM
I use Mounting Solutions on my 10 F P and you can check out Savage Shooters on the Web. Good Luck
cking
There is an expensive scop mount call the Talbot. It bridges the top of the action and increases the stiffness of the action. Needs gunsmith to install because it uses pins into the receiver. precision shooting has article about savage's this month.
