TXMXRACER
I am having a malfunction where the empty case ends up behind the ejector and the bolt jams it into the back of the ejector. When this happens I have to get a screwdriver in the ejection port to pry it off the ejector and clear it. This happens about once every 2-300 hundred rounds. Other than that it runs great. I am pretty new to the PCC stuff and am not sure how to diagnose it. The gun is NFA lower, bolt assembly and barrel with a regular 223 upper. running 125g blue bullets over 3gr clays at 1.10 Thanks for the help Shane Link to comment
Les Snyder
doe it do this with a hotter load?...how heavy of a buffer?.... my set up is almost identical to yours, and so far has worked flawlessly for over 2500 rounds.... a 145 power factor load with a NFA modular bolt and 5.2oz buffer Link to comment
rishii
When you pull the charging handle fully to the rear, how far past the bolt catch does to travel, if it's more than about 1/2" you need to run a spacer in the buffer tube, ether a longer buffer, 7 quarters in the buffer tube or a spacer to reduce the bolt travel Link to comment
Dannybot
I suspect this is happening partially due to bolt over travel. You might try a buffer spacer or something like that to stop the over travel. Link to comment
TXMXRACER
I am running a Kynshot hydraulic buffer with 223 carbine spring--I will check bolt travel tonight. Thank you for the input. shane Link to comment
Les Snyder
my thinking was that 3grains of Clays and a heavy buffer/spring combo might not have enough recoil force to move the bolt all the way to the ejector, or possibly not allow the ejector to hit the ejecting brass with enough force to successfully eject it... TXMXRACER
Going to try a spacer in the buffer tube and see how it runs--hope to swing by the range at lunch. Link to comment
Aircooled6racer
Hello: You may also want to see where the ejector is hitting the case. It may slip by if it is too far out. Thanks, Eric Link to comment
rishii
On the psa lowers, I slightly bend the ejector towards the middle to ensure it hits the case, I don't know if that applies to yours Link to comment
TXMXRACER
Looks like putting a spacer in my buffer tube fixed the issue. Worked great in a match this weekend. Thanks for all the help. shane Link to comment
