sheepdog566
I was cleaning my newer DVC last night and noticed a lot of side to side play in my rear sight. I would say the sight moves in the dovetail around 1/8th to 1/4". I really don't want to send the gun back to STI. I've heard something about grooving the metal underneath the sight to make it fit tighter in dovetail. Anybody have any thoughts?
bjones6686
Should be a set screw that holds the sight in place. Might need to put some loctite on the set screw and tighten it up so it doesn't back out when shooting the gun.
ltdmstr
Center the sight and use a correct size transfer punch to mark the location. Then take a drill the same size as the set screw and make a small detent. It doesn't have to be much. Then mount the sight with loctite on the set screw and the screw bottomed out on the detent. You can also put loctite on the dovetail if you want. Problem solved. Edited July 23, 2016 by ltdmstr
broadus123
There are 2 set screws. Mine came loose on my dvc. Put some blue loctite on the screws and they will stay put.
