OAL issues with MG 147's in G34

I just switched from MG's 124's CMJ's with an OAL of 1.160" which worked flawlessly in my Gen3 and my son's Gen4 G34's. I switched to the MG 147 CMJ's and kept the 1.160" OAL. No issue in my Gen3 but the Gen4 has constant feeding problems. Am I running them too long???

The 124's were a rounded nose and the 147's have that small flat spot in the front (look more like a trapezoid). Sounds like some people are running MG 147's around 1.130-1.140"

woaw. you guys load quite long. i use the same load in my 17 and 34 at 1.130 since years. quite popular aol for 9mm glock mags .

Welcome aboard.

I'd suggest you try The Plunk Test (TPT). That should tell you

if you're running them too long.

Every time you switch bullets, you're better off running TPT before

you load up too many of them ....

As long as it doesn't bind in the mag I load long. I had zero jhp I could only load out to 1.135 in the same gun.

147gr CMJ can fail to feed if over 1.135 OAL (@130pf) in my G34gen4 (even at 1.140 I'd have an issue every 50-75 rounds), its has flat nose profile... gun runs 100% at 1.130.

Its my primary practice/IDPA round.

Hodgon recommends 1.10 OAL and that is what I shoot in both my Gen 4 34 and my CZ Shadow. No issues and average of 924 FPS with 3.5 gr of Titegroup, works out to a PF of 135.8.

Your problem is easy to fix, just rerun the cartridges to the lower length and your done.
