Hilton Garden Inns have been consistent in my experience. I know this from general vacation travels over the last 20 years or so.

Single best stay, motel 6 in Ft. Smith Arkansas. Had a couple of hookers plying their trade a few doors down and the "walk of shame" was a thing of beauty as the johns walked by as we sat outside smoking cigars and sipping whiskey.

Most consistent, motel 6, cause the last one we stayed at in Grants New Mexico had a raid going on for prostitution as we checked in......we'll leave the light on for you!

Use the no tell motels in the seedy parts of town that rent by the hour. I would get kicked off the forum if I told you about the best single stay ever at one of those.

Seriously, I spend a lot of time on the road for work and the Hilton chains are pretty good. Get the HHHonors perks and you get free nights, rental car cheaper, etc. You get a decent free breakfast at most of them but they can be a little pricey.

When I pay for it myself and go to a match without family I go cheap. If I can pull the camper, I do, otherwise its motel 6 or 8 or whatever is 30 bucks a night.

Anywhere you can park the car right outside the room - multiple trips through the lobby and up the elevator with gun cases, ammo, etc. sucks.
