mccurdy53
By rule 4.2.1, target types cannot be mixed in one stage. Edited March 17, 2016 by mccurdy53
NMBOpen
From USPSA Handgun rules: 4.2.1 There are two types of paper targets approved for use in USPSA Handgun matches (see Appendix . These types must not be included together in any stage. This includes using one type as scoring and the other as a no-shoot. Jim Norman
Some rules make reasonable sense, others not so much. I understand an approved targets list, you don't want to travel a distance to a match and find out that they use some offbeat target with odd scoring lines or bowling pin steel. You signed up for a USPSA match, however, so long as the targets are approved for the type of match, E.G., Handgun targets only in a handgun match, we should be able to mix any approved target on a stage. Rules say no. For non USPSA Matches, do I care? So long as the targets are the same for everyone, why care? In fact, mixing targets makes differentiation for HG, LG and SG easier. Colors are bad as some people have issues and the lighting can be a problem, make it simple, Metrics for HG, Mini's or 3GN for Rifle, Classics for Slugs, Clays for SG Steel any kind for HG or Shot. You get choices and easy assignment of system as well as solving most scoring issues easily. Edited March 18, 2016 by Jim Norman
