Hi everyone im thinking of trying open im not sure if id like it so I don't want to drop a lot of money into a gun yet. I have a back up cz shadow I could use to try it out with, my question is are there any mounts out there that will attach to the rail for optics I don't want to drill holes into the frame.

I have a UM Tactical Universal Sight Mount and Holster Combo for sale in the classifieds. DP has the combo for sale for $165. I picked mine up from a prize table, new, never used, selling it for $115 shipped.

It's a UMH3C Universal Speed Holster for Right Hand draw and beltloop attached.

The mount says it fits S&W's, Sig, Springfield, Walther, Taurus, Kel Tech, Colt, Beretta, Glock, H&K, AND the CZ P-01, 75 sp-01, 75 sp-01 tactical, shadow target, and the 75 compact sdp. The generic description says the UM Tactical mount will fit all pistols with a 1913 Picatinny rail.

What makes this holster unique is that it attaches to the sight mount and NOT your gun.

You would need a comp and it means cutting frame a little bit until you want to machine strange forms on the comp. A threaded barrel too. Save yourself from awkward mount, awkward holster, bizarre draw and do it properly from the start! :) It's only three holes for CZC mount if you skip the pins.

In case you wouldn't like Open, yet I must see such person, training for Production with red dot drills was an eye opener for me.

The pistol is mine. The comp, which is cone indeed, modeled after CFD comp and CNC machined / lathe from titanium. I'm just a visionary, key work credits goes to a friend. Here she is with aluminum prototype:

Glassblasted today. Taking a week timeout to decide - Cerakote, or polish and rust bluing. Three days in acetone and three hours in paint stripper only softened polycoat a little.
