arkadi
Is it possible to fit Gold Custom Eric barrel and comp to Limited Custom 9x19 HC (large frame) with no modifications or with minor modifications? I want to preserve existing barrel as is to have an option to go back to Standard gun. If it's possible, what other pistol parts may I need to make it work? kneelingatlas
Yes, all you need is a 5.3" barrel and a comp:
Open1215
If it's the v12 you will also need to have the windows cut in the slide for the barrel ports. If you have the "minor" barrel with out the v12 then your all set. Mill the ports larger and have fun
gunnit
Not sure about your question , are you asking if you can take a standard Gold Custom barrel/comp out, and drop it right into an Elite Limited gun ? The answer would be no. The stock barrel/comp of a Gold Custom is too short to fit directly into the longer Limited slide. As suggested above you would re-barrel and comp for the Limited, and do whatever else if you wanted to port the barrel as Open 1215 has stated. Garmil
The way I understand it is the v8 barrel is the correct length the v12 barrel is shorter.
kneelingatlas
I didn't read your question carefully enough, you mentioned a Gold Team barrel/comp, but I thought you were referring to this three port comp from Eric's webstore. The current "V12" Gold Team pistols are 1/4" shorter than your Limited, so the barrel/comp assembly from a Gold Team will not fit in your Limited slide, only a Stock I/II slide. You don't really want a Gold Team barrel anyway, this 6" barrel can be threaded to accept the comp above.
gunnit
I probably should have asked what country your in, to find out if you have access to the original longer model V8 version of the Gold Custom. In which case if you have the longer V8 model, you might be able to drop it right in and clearance it for the slide, so the barrel/comp do not touch. gunnit
I see you just posted what country your from. Great to have you. Welcome to the forums. A lot of great information here. Edited December 7, 2015 by gunnit
arkadi
I live in Europe, Latvia. Anything from Tanfoglio is relatively easy. US items, such as barrels and slides, would be terribly inconvenient to access. This is what I have (sorry for poor lighting, I'll upload some Tanfoglio porn tomorrow): While my primary project in progress is to build an Open gun out of CZ SP01 Shadow - a lengthly process, I would love to have a simple way to (reversibly) convert Limited Custom to Open too. I have no Gold parts on hands, but could ask distributor to order some. I print my own rounds on Dillon 1050. gunnit
Great looking gun. Definitely talk to your distributor there. See if he can import a 6'' inch 9mm large frame barrel for you. Then have a gunsmith ( or yourself ) cut and thread the barrel for an Eric Grauffel 3 port compensator as posted above, to fit this excellent gun in the picture you posted. The barrel thread is M15 X 0.75 mm I believe , but confirm that first before threading. Another option is to try and find a V8 ported Gold Team Custom there, and just shoot it as is. You'll have 2 guns, but that's a problem you might be happy with. Edited December 8, 2015 by gunnit
arkadi
Thanks everyone for the answers! The gun is indeed great in handling, even with just red dot alone. 1. Is 6" barrel a bull barrel? The picture from EAA website says it's not. -- I have a spare Binary Eng's CFD Titanium Compensator , but it's for bull barrel. 2. I've seen different pictures and different videos of Gold guns cycling, but still do not understand - Eric Grauffel comp is a coned comp or comp for bull barrel? Is it a Tanfoglio part: COMPENSATOR GOLD PR025 or COMPENSATOR GOLD ERIC PR025A ? Edited December 8, 2015 by arkadi

Open1215
Got ya. All except the final poet look very simular. I thought it was a 1911 comp. Looks good.
BeerBaron
arkadi, since you have the 4.75inch limited the best option for you is a V8 top end (they were based on the 4.75inch guns). The V12 is too short for your slide as it's based off the 4.5inch gun. You can do this 2 ways: buy a V8 eric custom top end kit (slide and barrel) in 38 super and fit that to your frame. easy but a bit expensive. buy a V8 eric custom barrel/comp and fit that to your slide. you can buy one in 9mm or buy the 38 super but run 38 super comp (will better suit your 9mm breach face and extractor). Since you have the limited custom already it has the correct coffin cuts in the slide to allow the barrel popple holes to breathe (in the US their version of the limited custom doesn't get the slide cuts for some reason). The eric graufel comps are cone comps made to fit straight barrels not a bull/cone barrel. For the eric custom guns they use a regular straight barrel which is threaded then add the aluminium compensator which also has a cone one it to make the small straight barrel mate to the large opening in the slide. Is it a Tanfoglio part: COMPENSATOR GOLD PR025 or COMPENSATOR GOLD ERIC PR025A? 1. Traditional 1911 terms don't translate to Tanfoglio, but as far as the barrels, the 6" barrel functions like a "bushing barrel", but it can be used with a "bull barrel" style comp or "cone comp" depending on the slide you use. The barrel of a Tanfoglio exits the slide at a different angle of a 2011 so the CFD comp wouldn't work well with on a Tanfoglio. What you want is a straight barrel and a cone comp, either the three port factory comp or a custom one. 2. It's a cone comp, but you'd have to ask Eric about part numbers.
