TriggerT
3 gun match in LaCrosse Wisconsin on Saturday. Wish that I was taking your Gator with me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wish I was shooting in LaCrosse instead of spending the day with the inlaws. Nice gun Dave. I assume you shoot it in tactical? BigDave
Yup, Tack-tickle. Well, for the last match anyway which was my first and only 3-gun match. It is a sweet heater, for sure.
Big Shooter
I'm thinking about buying the upper that they advertise in Front Sight. Anybody have any experience w/it?? What's the difference between it and JP's significantly more expensive upper???
scooterj
Thinking about getting the upper too. I don't think you can go wrong with something built by Jim Jr. and Jerry.
BigDave
I think the Clark upper will be heavier than the JP. The Clark is an A4 (flattop) with a 1x9 DPMS stainless steel, Teflon coated barrel with the free float tube, JP gas block and Miculek comp. My gun (knock on wood) runs like a raped ape and I'd recommend it to anyone.
DBChaffin
I bought a Gator upper that Max Michel Jr. won off of the prize table at Area 4 a couple years ago. It has been 100% reliable and I absolutely love it. I put together the lower with a JP trigger, and it has shot several 1/2" groups at 100 yards with "Canned Heat" reloaded ammo from Georgia Arms and a Leupold 1.5-5 scope on top. With me behind the trigger, that is great accuracy! I'd like to know what it could do with more magnification and the right load, but it shoots so great as it is I hesitate to change a thing. I'm sure it is heavier than the JP setup, but for the money they are tough to beat. They used to have a special for USPSA members that knocked $100 off as well.
